It is in a superb Magaliesberg Mountain setting, but is only an hour’s drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
There is a spectacular thatched chapel, seating up to 120 guests, beautiful Cape Dutch architecture and attractive gardens with streams and water features.
The thatched reception hall is spacious and elegant – a marvellous setting to celebrate the start of your married life.
We specialise in spectacular, destination wedding events, lasting for the whole weekend, from Friday to Sunday, rather than just a normal ceremony and reception.
We provide an in-house specialist wedding co-ordinator, who is able to organise everything for the event, including the cake, décor, and flowers, as may be required. She will plan the reception menu and in doing so will take into account the bride’s special preferences for particular dishes.
When the wedding dinner ends at midnight, we provide a bonfire in the adjoining boma, for the continued pleasure of your guests.
Steynshoop Valley Lodge and the adjoining Steynshoop Mountain Lodge offer excellent accommodation and facilities for your guests.

We held our wedding there in December 2024, and it was truly phenomenal. The venue is stunning and very well-maintained. We decided on a weekend wedding which commenced on the Friday. Our guests were very well taken care of and loved their rooms. The Friday night braai buffet was absolutely delicious, where most of our guests went back for seconds and some for thirds. Everyone enjoyed the swimming pool until early in the morning on both nights. The breakfast buffet was just as delicious, and for someone that doesn’t like scrambled eggs, this was truly appetizing. We were able to choose from a selection of spit braai options for the wedding night. All food, especially the pumpkin fritters, was fantastic. Hanneli, the in-house coordinator, was definitely on top of everything. She made sure that our celiac disease family members were well taken care of. Despite us using a different décor agent – who completely failed us – Hanneli stayed up till past midnight to help us fix the décor and even jumped to obtain new flowers the next morning. The owner was always present, ensuring that everything was running smoothly. He was also always ready to help in any way possible. The venue and its people are one of a kind

Beste venue ooit. Oom Pieter en Tannie Hanneli het uit hul pad gegaan om ons tuis te laat voel. Die hele naweek troue het hulle gesorg dat alles glad verloop. Woorde kan nie beskryf hoe dankbaar ons is vir hul wat seker gemaak het ons kry ons sprokietroue. Die kos was Fantasties. Staf was baie vriendelik. Ek sal definitief enige iemand aanraai om van hul gebruik te maak..
